Counselling with Jo

I am Jo Eaton-Brown, a BACP accredited Integrative Counsellor, based in East Sussex. I offer therapy to individuals aged 16 and over on a wide range of issues.

Please take some time to look around my website and read more about my therapy services. Do get in contact if you have any questions or would like to arrange an initial session. My new FAQs page answers some of the most common questions I get asked about starting counselling.

How can counselling help?

Counselling is an investment in you. It’s about consciously making time to explore your thoughts, feelings and patterns of behaviour. It can sometimes seem easier to just keep going, to avoid difficult conversations or keep things to ourselves. Talking therapy challenges you to be honest with yourself so that you can find relief, clarity and new ways forward.

The beauty of counselling is that this all takes place within a safe and non-judgemental relationship, where you are free to be yourself. It is my role to help you get to know yourself better, and with this knowledge you are in control of the decisions you choose to make.

Whether you choose to see me in person, online or outdoors, counselling offers a chance to slow down and talk in confidence with a trained professional. I work from non-clinical settings to help you feel more at ease and able to be yourself.

Making time to talk in this way can help to alleviate distress, resolve inner conflict, leave you with a better understanding of yourself and those around you, improve communication in your relationships and increase your self-awareness. The learning and insight it’s possible to gain, can serve you for the rest of your life.

I welcome people from all backgrounds and I will listen carefully to what you have to say. There is no shame in seeking support and prioritising your mental health. In the same way you would attend to physical aches and pains, your mind and body work together, and both benefit from your care and attention.
